Senior Specialist Chemotherapy Pharmacist

An existing opportunity has arisen in Pharmacy Cancer Services at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a Specialist Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Cancer Service team.
You will provide a specialist pharmacy service to the oncology and clinical haematology specialties, working closely with the Senior Specialist Pharmacists and multidisciplinary team members to provide excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be providing clinical screening of chemotherapy prescriptions and medicine management for oncology and haematology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
In addition, the post holder will be an non-medical prescriber and will prescribe chemotherapy for either oncology or haematology patients.
You can also expect a structured specialist development and opportunity to contribute to high level clinical and service delivery projects supported by senior members of the Pharmacy team.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Masters degree in pharmacy or equivalent
* Member of GPhC
* Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
* Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice
* Management or leadership courses
* Registered Independent Prescriber
* MSc in Pharmacy practice or equivalent in cancer speciality
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
* Demonstrate ability to recommend and communicate verbal and written therapeutic options for patients in multi-disciplinary setting.
* Able to work under pressure alone and in a team.
* Good ability to use computer systems including excel and word
* Demonstrate good personal organisation and time management skills to cope with clinical, operational and governance tasks.
* Ability to identify and manage risks.
* Ability to develop chemotherapy protocols on the electronic prescribing system.
* Demonstrate knowledge and ability to manage and influence other colleagues to implement policy, operation or service changes
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant post registration training and experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice
* Substantive clinical experience in providing pharmaceutical service to Oncology/Haematology patients
* Demonstrable the use of clinical audit or research to improve practice/service
* Demonstrate knowledge in Cancer chemotherapy (Oncology and/or Haematology) therapeutics
* Experience in delivering training
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience on management and governance of cancer chemotherapy service
* Good understanding of the GMP and regulations concerning aseptic preparation
