We are partnering with a prestigious global commodities trading firm to find a skilled and driven Risk Analyst to join their growing team. With a strong presence across various energy markets, including oil, gas, power, and renewables, our client is expanding its operations and looking for a new team member to help navigate and manage market risks.
Job Purpose:
As a Risk Analyst, you will work closely with traders to identify and assess key risks and ensure optimal risk management across the company’s trading activities. This role involves conducting risk valuations, performing statistical analysis, and producing detailed risk reports. You will also collaborate with teams globally to improve existing systems, processes, and controls while staying informed about market trends and regulatory changes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage with traders on an intraday basis to monitor and assess risk exposures.
* Conduct risk valuations and statistical analysis to evaluate risk measures.
* Assist in developing and improving systems, models, and processes.
* Collaborate with global teams to simplify and consolidate risk management processes.
* Enhance existing control frameworks to ensure effective risk monitoring and reporting.
* Keep up-to-date with market developments and regulatory changes to ensure all risks are captured and reported effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and VBA.
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
* A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Maths, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
