Mechanical Project Manager Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in mechanical systems? We are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to lead the effective delivery of key activities within our programme. Role Overview: As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will provide leadership and build strong relationships to drive project success. Your expertise will ensure that all activities within your contract or package are executed efficiently and effectively. Key Accountabilities: Lead the delivery of contract/package activities, ensuring safety, budget, quality, and technical requirements are met. Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP). Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and execute EP strategies within assigned projects. Monitor and manage project progress, tracking against milestones, deadlines, and budgets. Identify and resolve issues proactively, escalating where necessary to the Delivery Manager. Promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and lessons-learned within the project team. Build and sustain effective relationships with project stakeholders and team members. Additional Responsibilities: Demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical systems infrastructure, safety & commissioning, and construction industry practices. Engage with stakeholders to maintain accurate timelines and ensure task completion. Lead, motivate, and develop teams to drive project performance and exceed expectations. Oversee projects from concept to completion, defining scope and ensuring progress is effectively monitored. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum: HNC in Mechanical Engineering (Degree level preferred). Experience with nuclear mechanical systems, installation, and safety standards. Knowledge of nuclear installation standards including safety-critical systems. Professional qualification in Project Management (e.g., APM PMQ or equivalent). Proven experience managing projects in complex, regulated environments (Nuclear Energy sector preferred). Strong project management, financial, and change management skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and advisors. Knowledge of CDM Regulations and nuclear quality assurance. Experience in the design, manufacturing, and installation of mechanical equipment (e.g., Piped Systems, HVAC, Drainage, Heating & Cooling). Working Pattern: Initial 6-9 months in Bristol, then site-based at Hinkley Point C from late 2025/early 2026. 9-day fortnight working pattern. Flexible working arrangements available.
