Ideal LSA role for Criminology and Psychology graduates.
This role is in a specialist provision for children, aged 7-19, all of whom have experienced significant trauma and face social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
A real focus on holistic and restorative practices, creating empathy where possible at every opportunity. The school avoids punitive measures; manual handling training is only used when absolutely necessary.
A practical trial day will take place in school to ensure the role is suitable for you. This is dependent on your availability to start ASAP, especially if you have a notice period or are finishing University.

In addition, can you keep the children safe? You will receive extensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA Training. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, you will have the opportunity to explore areas of genuine interest and identify where your skills need enhancement.
Responsibilities:
1. Support secondary-aged students with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying degrees of social anxiety.
2. Engage in physical work while being pragmatic, helping each child make academic progress according to their individual context.
3. Adapt to some anti-social behavior as part of the role, providing support to society's most vulnerable children.
4. Utilize various therapies and holistic processes, recognizing that even small progress is significant.
5. Focus on diverse cognitive abilities across all ages, ensuring positive engagement and a sense of acceptance.
6. Provide students with objectives and as much independence as possible, particularly for those in assisted living.
