Marsden Medical Group has a fantastic opportunity for a medical secretary to join our team for 18 hours per week (working 3 days, Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
This is an essential front-line role at the practice, providing an efficient, comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the wider practice team.
Our Medical Secretaries play a vital role in supporting our doctors and teams bringing their skills and professionalism into the team, speaking to patients on the telephone, typing clinical letters amongst many other essential tasks. The life of a Medical Secretary is varied, interesting and highly valued.
In this post you will join a team who are looking for someone with audio typing experience. The individual should also possess strong organisational skills, good time management, and excellent verbal and written communication.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a team that provides a secretarial and administrative service to the wider team which will involve, but not exclusively be limited to;
Typing letters
Answering patient queries by phone or email
Processing patient referral letters
Cancelling and reinstating appointments as necessary
Booking appointments for patients and coordinating services
Attending and minuting meetings
Patient online access
Reports

JOB PURPOSE
To ensurethat all secretarial duties are carried out efficiently, and to assist thePartnership in providing a high quality service.
MAINRESPONSIBILITIES
1 Audio typing of practice documents
2 To attendmeetings when required to take shorthand notes.
3 To conferwith hospital secretaries concerning expedition of appointments, dischargeletters, and results of investigations.
4 To answerqueries from hospital departments.
5 Direct patients to appropriate services
6 To assistwith patients telephone / personal enquiries regarding hospital appointments,referrals etc.
7 To expediteinformation on hospital appointments, laboratory, and X-Ray results. Noting records and informing patient ofoutcome.
ADMINISTRATION
