ROLE OVERVIEW:
The opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, driven and credible Financial Controller to join the 54 team. This role will lead a small team in the delivery of monthly reporting, budgeting and planning, financial controls, statutory reporting and operational finance management while closely supporting the businesses' shareholders and investment backers. The successful Financial Controller will be a formally qualified (ACA or ACCA) accountant with prior experience working in practice. You will ideally have had exposure in a multi-entity business environment, either in an SME or larger corporate. You will need to be driven, credible, emotionally intelligent and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment. A passion for sport would be advantageous but is by no means necessary!
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to a top tier CFO, the Financial Controller will be critical in ensuring the integrity of monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and advising on commercial decision making while overseeing the transactional finance team and maintaining relationships with external and internal advisors/auditors in the UK and internationally (Middle East and US). Key duties will include:
1. Managing the finance team
2. Delivery of monthly group management accounts, developing insightful variance analysis and commentary
3. Ownership of the cashflow forecasts, responsible for preparing forecasts, developing underlying reports to gather data used within the forecast, and analysis of variances.
4. Lead preparation of the annual budget and forecast.
5. Manage the intercompany accounting process and any related transfer pricing matters.
6. Period and year end statutory reporting.
7. Lead the annual audit process.
8. Work closely with external advisors to ensure statutory filings are completed accurately and to deadline for international entities.
9. Oversee transactional processing, including sign off of payment runs and credit limits.
10. Lead and support continued operational improvement through utilisation of systems, reporting tools and technology.
11. Support the integration of new acquisitions.
