We have a comprehensive global network of economic, political and investment decision-makers. Our members come from both the public and private sectors and comprise of some of the most well-known and respected financial and technology organisations in the world. In addition to membership, we offer bespoke meetings and research on global policy and investment themes.
OMFIF operates through four thematic institutes: the Economic and Monetary Policy Institute (EMP) convenes leaders from public and private sector institutions to discuss macroeconomic trends and shape the future of monetary policy and political economy; the Digital Monetary Institute (DMI) explores the topic of payments, including digital currency as an alternative to cash, and brings together technologists and policy-makers at the heart of decisions relating to the future of finance the Sustainable Policy Institute focuses on sustainable finance, addressing the policy, regulatory and investment challenges posed by environmental, social and governance themes with those responsible for shaping the sustainability agenda; and the Sovereign Debt Institute.

The role:
From our London office, as a member of the Commercial Team and reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the post holder will work closely with the DMI and EMP researchers and programmers to undertake commercial activities relating to the sale of our DMI and EMP membership packages, events and publications. This is a great opportunity for someone with substantial experience in maintaining and growing client portfolios, eager to work closely to leading financial institutions in a very competitive and rewarding sector. The candidate must be a self-starter who takes pride and is motivated by targets and works to exceed them.
* Maintains and develops solid relationships with existing clients, seeking, recognising and pursuing new opportunities for revenue generation across EMP and DMI
* Maintains a healthy sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal close, meets and exceeds renewal and acquisition targets as set by the CRO
* A strong communicator, provides market and clients insight to colleagues, generates new ideas and informs product development
* Identifies risks and opportunities, providing accurate and timely forecast to the CRO
* Liaises internally to ensure sales deliverables are viable and met
* Works closely with marketing colleagues to maintain and grow lead generation capabilities.
Skills, experience and qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
* 5+ years’ relevant experience managing portfolios of clients, preferably in the events and publishing industry
* Track record of renewing and growing £1m+ client portfolios
* Commercial mindset, client-focused, tenacious attitude and advanced negotiation skills
* Have excellent communication skills both by phone and in writing and good understanding of diplomatic language. A second language is an advantage.
* Be a strong and creative problem solver, able to ‘think on your feet’ and confident in engaging with relevant stakeholders.
* Be adept in leveraging the expertise of others to get results
* Strong project management skills
* Be action-oriented, intellectually curious with solid understanding of economics and the financial sector, including digitalisation of finance
* Be able to work flexibly and successfully across teams and hierarchies and building strong internal and external relationships at all levels
* Operate standard Microsoft Office systems and CRM (experience with Salesforce would be beneficial) to a high level.
