Description The Service & Team: We are the Business Support Team, part of the Children & Families Service. Duties will involve a range of tasks including the monitoring of admin mailboxes, distribution of correspondence and reports, records management, meeting administration and detailed recording of complex meetings within strict timescales, financial transactions and input of information to databases. The Role: We have a permanent vacancy for a Business Support Assistant in Mid Cornwall (Truro/St Austell) based at Pydar House, Truro. The core focus of this post will be to support the work of our frontline practitioners; enabling them to achieve the best outcomes and prioritise direct work with children and families and ensure timely communications with service users and partner agencies. This position will be subject to a standard criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: The post is for 3½ days - working all day Monday to Wednesday plus Thursday morning. Whilst the location/work base for this role has been specified, our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We work flexibly to most effectively support the people, services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process. This role will include working at Pydar House, Truro for at least one day a week. There will be a requirement to assist with the delivery of business support within our core business hours. What you’ll need to succeed: Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths and have excellent keyboard skills. Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage. Comprehensive training will be given and once established in the role, opportunities for career development will be available. You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies. A professional approach, applying discretion and diplomacy is essential. We also require flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, producing good quality, accurate outputs while working to deadlines.
