The Role Legend is hiring a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of M&A. In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for sourcing acquisition targets, building financial models, and managing live deal processes from start to finish. Assist in the due diligence and transaction process, ensuring thorough analysis and smooth execution for acquisition targets. Build detailed financial models with a focus on ROI, enabling key investment decisions based on clear, data-driven insights. Lead domain acquisitions from identification to negotiation and closing, collaborating closely with strategy, legal teams, and external brokers to ensure successful outcomes. Prepare impactful presentations and reports on potential acquisition targets, providing senior executives with the information needed for informed decision-making. Maintain and update the pipeline management database, conducting in-depth industry research to identify promising acquisition opportunities, while tracking financial performance, market trends, and competitive positioning. Collaborate with the M&A Associate to streamline due diligence processes and manage deal activities, ensuring efficient progress across all stages of the transaction. What You’ll Bring: Qualified Accountant: Ideally, you're a newly qualified accountant, or bring complementary skills such as project management, integration, or sales experience. We value practical skills over formal exams, but a solid financial foundation is essential. 3 Years of Experience in an Accounting Practice: Your experience will provide the foundation for your ability to manage complex financial data and scenarios. Strong Financial & Excel Acumen: You're comfortable working with financial data, building basic models, making assumptions, and analyzing P&L numbers to draw insights and make informed decisions. Independent & Multi-tasking Skills: You thrive in an autonomous environment and can manage multiple projects simultaneously, without losing sight of deadlines or priorities. Hungry, Driven, and Dynamic: You approach acquisition targets with relentless focus and determination, demonstrating a tenacity that won’t let go until goals are met. A real "dog with a bone" mentality is key Analytical & Evidence-driven: While industry experience isn’t required, you're quick to assess and evaluate evidence, making sensible conclusions based on available data. Confident & Collaborative: You’ll need to manage relationships with external stakeholders and bring a confident, collaborative approach to each interaction. Inquisitive Mindset: You are curious and proactive, eager to uncover issues during due diligence and dig deeper for insights that others may overlook. Strong Communication Skills: You communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, ensuring your insights and analysis are clearly conveyed to senior leaders and stakeholders.
