This role is central to the delivery and continuity of Information Technology services across the Trust. The Cloud Technologies Specialist will play a key role in the development of the Trust's Cloud strategy and lead in the design for the programme of Cloud infrastructure enabling projects. The Cloud Technologies Specialist needs to fully understand the technology vision, objectives, deliverables, and organisational goals. This role is key to defining the strategy of the Trust's Cloud technologies with current and future industry standards.
Responsibilities include:
1. Work with the Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager and the Head of Live Services to produce capital plans for each year which reflect the future Cloud hosted designs.
2. Collaborate with third parties to ensure vulnerabilities are patched before they can be exploited.
3. Mentor Infrastructure Technicians for Cloud hosted related work streams, projects, and deliverables.
4. Assist the Digital team in preparing technical specifications for all departments in the Trust.
5. Design future Trust Cloud hosted solutions, including infrastructure designs and selection of Cloud services providers.
6. Support the completion of business cases that have a Cloud technologies technical impact.
7. Provide input in the preparation of benefits realisation and financial information, including capital and ongoing revenue requirements.
8. Work with the Digital Team to minimise downtime due to Cloud hosted upgrades and changes, maximising service availability.
9. Liaise with third party partners to produce a programme of Cloud hosted technical research and pilot projects for emerging Cloud solutions and technologies.
10. Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside of the Trust.
11. Present Cloud hosted technical and complex areas to stakeholders who do not have technical backgrounds.
Ensure effective communication so stakeholders understand the background and impact of changes and planned work.
