About The Role
We have an opportunity to join our Group IT Team as a Finance Analyst on a full-time, permanent basis.
You will report to the Head of IT Governance and Security and assist in managing, reconciling, and reporting on the IT department's budget. Your responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues in IT and Central Finance to ensure budgets align with forecasts, actively monitoring costs and identifying savings, accurately recording reconciliations, and producing regular reports and budget walkthroughs to maintain transparency. You will work on implementing process and budget structure improvements ensuring all targets and deadlines are met. You will liaise with our Finance department and headquarters to ensure all regular and ad hoc tasks are delivered on behalf of IT.
What does a normal week look like?
There is no such thing as a typical week in this role, but you can expect the following:
* Running reports from the VW financial systems to ensure that IT costs are correctly allocated and accounted for in the cost centres
* Working with colleagues in IT and Central Finance to ensure that the cost centres are tracking to budget and raising awareness of risks / opportunities as they arise
* Management of incoming invoices to ensure that all are approved / rejected and then processed as required
* Raising shopping cart requests in the VW procurement system for IT purchases
* Responding to ad hoc requests for financial information – analysis of required data and preparation of response
* Management of accruals and pre-payment process in cost centres
* Management of process to ensure that any agreed cross charges are passed on to other business areas as appropriate
* Discussions with colleagues in Central Finance regarding any potential changes to overall forecasts and completing monthly documentation for input into the central system
* Co-ordination of activities leading up to annual budget setting process
Skills & experience you can bring to the role:
* Experience in managing complex IT budgets from various perspectives, e.g. overall budget, departmental budgets, program/project budgets, budget per IT service
* Extensive experience in producing and simplifying financial reporting
* IT Finance analysis background with experience in budget analysis and management reporting
* Driving improvements and efficiencies in the IT budgeting process
* Ability to assimilate complex Excel spreadsheets into PowerBI dashboard reporting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organised with the ability to work on your own initiative
* Strong user knowledge of SAP and M365
* Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to deliver results
* Advanced Excel experience including PivotTables and LOOKUPS
