Transport Officer – Children’s and Young Adults
Location: Leicestershire
Contract: Full-time, 3-month initial contract
Start Date: 14th April 2025
Hourly Rate: £17.74 (Umbrella)
Please note this role is office based
Job Purpose:
* To support the efficient, safe, and compliant delivery of passenger transport services
* To ensure that the services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee fleet operations, ensuring efficient service delivery
* Supervise and support Drivers and Escorts
* Maintain health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and reporting
* Assist in recruitment, training, and performance management
* Liaise with stakeholders and prepare reports as required
* Monitor vehicle maintenance and regulatory compliance
* Identify cost-saving and income-generating opportunities
* Deputise for the Transport Manager when needed
* Communicating with parents – strong customer service skills are essential
Requirements:
* Travel to different locations may be required
* DBS check required due to working with vulnerable individuals
