Job Description
A Care Assistant with Home Instead is someone who has a kind and compassionate heart, and wants to make a true difference to the quality of life for seniors. Our Care Assistants provide support that is completely personalised to the individual based on a close bond being formed through shared experiences and interests. You will enjoy building professional and respectful friendships and be comfortable spending time in the company of others with the ability to adapt in order to meet client’s needs.
As a full-time Care Assistant you will have guaranteed contracted hours. As part of this, it is required that you will be flexible in regard to your hours of work, and you are available to work alternative weekends as well as a minimum of two evening's per week.
Your tasks as a Care Assistant will be based around the following:
1. Providing personal care
2. Prompting medication
3. Assisting with daily living
4. Home help tasks
5. Being a friendly companion to our clients
6. Preparing meals and monitoring clients diets
7. Assisting to appointments
8. Ensuring that clients can remain independent in their own homes
Qualifications
You do not need any particular experience or qualifications to become a Care Assistant. However, it would be beneficial to have some experience interacting with older people.
A driving license and access to your own vehicle which can be used for work purposes is required for this role where you will be based in the community, providing care for clients in their own homes.
