The Cancer Team has the opportunity to offer a fixed term contract of a Cancer Care Navigator post for 37.5 hours per week.
As part of an experienced and well-established team, the post holder will be responsible for tracking and monitoring cancer patient pathways using a wide range of IT systems. Communicating effectively with patients to ensure diagnostic tests are achieved in line with the faster diagnostic cancer standard. Other duties include enabling data for Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and data collection for national audit and dataset purposes. The post holder will also be required to assist in the patient tracking meetings and provide regular updates on performance against Cancer Waiting Times standards and the reporting of breaches. A well-organised and systematic approach is a necessity.
The successful applicant will be reliable, have good IT skills, and be motivated and flexible to provide a high-quality patient-facing service. Escalation of delays to clinical and management teams requires excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Cancer Waiting Times standards would be an advantage, and PAS/Patient Centre experience within the hospital setting is essential.

Person Specification
* NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
* GCSE English or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
* Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting
* Ability to exert moderate physical effort for several short periods during a shift related to the movement of case notes
* Ability to sit for a reasonable time and use a desk/laptop computer keyboard
