About the role
You will be a valuable support and key member of the team to help us continue to drive growth within Mirus. This role will have the freedom to take ownership of the responsibilities given from raising Schedules to ensuring effective and efficient deliveries occur as planned, developing key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be a key interface with our external suppliers flagging up any supply risks and communicating to all areas of the business.
Additionally the role will include inventory control of raw material stocks and management of the MRP system to ensure parts are available as needed by the Business.
In your role as our Material Planner, you will:
* Use the ERP / MRP system to procure raw materials efficiently, balancing supply risk, lead-time, efficient ordering quantities and the development of appropriate batch sizes to meet the needs of Production without excessive cash outlay on slow moving stock.
* Work with key supply chains in Asia, Europe and the UK to minimise the total cost of supply to Mirus.
* Raise, execute and manage schedules and expedite delivery promises from suppliers. Ensures these promise dates and the data in ERP is maintained effectively to raise and improve OTIF (On Time in Full) accuracy.
* Expedite material supply, elicit promise dates for supplier deliveries and update the system.
* Assist in establishing a dynamic stock control process which supports internal build requirements but projects the business from excess stock procurement.
* Manage supplier capacity to ensure supply risks are identified and managed. Takes proactive measures to address risks before they impact supply.
* Maintain effective and positive working relationships within Supply Chain and across the business – an all-round team player.
* Need to be capable of liaising with suppliers assertively and independently to drive delivery commitment and unlock any issues.
* Help assist in any other activities necessary to ensure the Supply Chain group delivers its objectives.
About you
To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your administrative and operational experience within a Supply Chain/Procurement capacity, an aptitude to completing tasks efficiently, problem solving abilities, demonstrable skills to deliver effective support along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
* A Levels or equivalent
* Experience in purchasing, supply chain, materials control, logistics or expediting
* Experience working within either a manufacturing or engineering industry
* Experience of operating within both a development and a serial production environment
* Strong analytical understanding of business ERP and MRP ordering systems
Desirable:
* CIPS or equivalent professional qualification
* Experience of operating within aerospace and/or automotive industries
* Experience of working with suppliers based in Asia
* Understanding of Logistics and Incoterms
* Able to contribute to planning meetings across the wider business to ensure Supply Chain are embedded in this process
* Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics BC ERP systems is preferred although training will be given as required
