RPS is looking for a Senior Environment Manager to join our Environment & Infrastructure Team. This is an Associate Director level position. You'll be leading on the management and delivery of some of our environmental teams key projects across the UK and helping our clients manage and obtain environmental consents including for national infrastructure schemes and renewable energy projects.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a key position where you will facilitate the integration of consents and consenting activities into project delivery, across design, assessment and construction.
It’s an exciting role that will vary greatly from day to day. Some days will be spent working with our clients and attending meetings and workshops and providing advice to help manage their consent applications or compliance. Other days will be sent working with our various environmental teams with their delivery programmes and schedules. You’ll most likely find yourself either working as a project manager or project director taking responsibility of our environmental teams delivery for the projects you are working on. You’ll be the main project point of contact for our clients, manage key environmental stakeholder interfaces and will be responsible for the financial performance of your projects.
Key responsibilities:
Given the nature of the role we’re looking for someone who is highly organised, is a excellent communicator and leads projects from the front. You’ll need a strong knowledge of environmental requirements during major development and infrastructure projects in the UK. To fit in with our team and we’d expect you to have a degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related subject. An MSc or further professional qualifications would be helpful but not essential. The role would suit someone who’s lead on the environmental aspects of development projects and worked in the construction sector, particularly post planning consent and during detail design and construction stages of projects. If you’ve strong experience in delivering consents under hybrid bills, DCO, TWA and TCPA planning regimes you could be very well suited to the role.
