Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team in York. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
* Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
* Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
* Provide administrative support to the COO and finance team.
Requirements:
* AAT level 4 desirable, or qualified by experience to equivalent level.
* Proficiency in accounting software Sage desirable and MS Office Suite.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Salary £27,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent on experience.
* 5% salary sacrifice pension scheme.
* 25 days holiday + opportunity to purchase a further 5 days via salary sacrifice.

Other Information:
