Job description Site Name: UK - County Durham - Barnard Castle Posted Date: Apr 22 2025 Finance Director – Barnard Castle Location: Barnard Castle – Minimum 3 days per week on site. As Finance Director, you will lead and deliver the site Finance function and financial support as the primary interface to the business, member of the site leadership team, including definition and implementation of the Site strategies and policies to optimise operations and improve competitiveness. This person will be a key partner in providing decision support, insights, counselling and challenge for both Site and Finance community and the successful candidate will play a key role with significant responsibility and exposure on executing our Pharma Supply Chain strategy. The role also has a material level of collaboration with Research & Development (R&D) - New Product Introduction (NPI) including hugely important assets subject to immediate launch and industrialisation. Job Purpose includes but not limited to: Embedded business finance support as the primary Finance interface to the business, member of the site leadership team, including definition and implementation of the Site improvement strategies and policies Provide decision support, insights, counselling and challenge, driving simplification and implementation of best practices, delivering financial management & financial performance optimisation, governance and ensuring regulatory compliance, reviewing talent management and proactively identifying internal/external opportunities for both Site and Finance community. Management of a team of two (2) embedded Finance partners and working with SMAS and the extended FS team (P2P and C&C among others) to deliver its purpose. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Provide leadership and opinion/financial analysis to Site Director and Site Leadership team in line with leadership expectations Ensure adherence to challenging financial targets by close financial management. Ability to manage the financial targets that are allocated to site in terms of P&L, Balance Sheet and Working capital. Optimise site financial performance & competitiveness to deliver margin improvements Define and participate in the implementation of site strategies in accordance with the policies and regulations of the Group. Facilitate the communication of results and drive opportunities and corrective actions if necessary Provide decision support/financial consulting to the Business Units’ Leadership team and GSC senior executives. Ensure an influential role in cross-functional and cross-site activities, as well as with external stakeholders. Lead Financial Compliance including adherence to Finance Manual, Internal Control Framework and ABAC/TPO programme. Ensure the standardisation and simplification of financial process, tools and data (reporting, budget, etc.) Coaching and talent development of the Site Finance Team Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Relevant business degree, accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent) Considerable post qualification experience in senior Finance role Statutory reporting, control framework, and internal and external audit experience. Understanding of systems and processes as they affect the financial results including excellent data and computer skills Demonstrated business skills with integrity and independent judgment to understand the underlying business drivers Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Strong Business Partnering skills. Experience as the Finance Lead of a Business Unit’s Leadership Team Broad knowledge of the pharmaceuticals business, accounting and finance, strategic and business planning, and budgeting.
