Senior Electrical Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will have expertise in designing PLC control systems and experience in electrical and electronics design.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute engineering design expertise for new systems and products, addressing technical queries and ensuring optimal technical solutions are delivered.
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions within budget and in line with company standards and processes.
* Generate part numbers, bill of materials, and source components and materials as needed.
* Produce engineering documentation, including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, testing procedures, certifications, and reports.
* Serve as the technical approver for all relevant drawings and documentation generated by the engineering team.

Requirements:
* Strong skills in electrical and electronics design.
* Proficient in creating design calculations.
* Experienced with engineering design software and CAD tools.
* Knowledgeable about relevant design standards.
* Background in designing control systems using PLCs, with expertise in industrial automation interfaces (e.g., Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet).
Desirable Skills:
* Advantageous experience in DC product design.
* Skilled in selecting cables, connectors, and penetrators.
* Experienced in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical system design and commissioning, including related calculations.
* Capable of designing power distribution systems.
* Competent in specifying, selecting, and managing traction battery systems up to 150 kWh.
* Knowledge of EMC-compliant electrical systems design.
What We Offer:
£45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
