Join us as a Technical Team Manager in our Motor Underwriting Team - we’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated people leader to join our exciting team as we look to grow our brands and strengthen our presence in the Motor Insurance market.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll get stuck in straight away, soak up new experiences and most importantly you’ll positively influence and shape what we do – making an impact on our customers lives. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you to opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Embedding a strong risk management culture, ensuring appropriate risk management and controls processes are actively maintained
* Monitoring industry underwriting trends and regulatory changes to ensure that our motor insurance products remain relevant, competitive and compliant
* Working collaboratively with our counter fraud teams
* Ensuring our underwriting criteria supports the delivery of our financial targets and positive customer outcomes
* Acting as a conduit between operations, claims and complaints, supporting interpretation of policy wording and customer facing content
* Participate in industry events and conferences to stay up to date on industry trends and best practices
* Enacting and enhancing our underwriting controls
* Working together with a multi-disciplined trading and product team
* Leadership of the Technical Motor Underwriting team, focusing on growing capability and promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, change and innovation within a controlled environment
What you’ll need
* Proven experience of Technical Underwriting in a personal lines insurance product, ideally Motor
* Proven track record of using your underwriting expertise to recognise, develop, recommend and implement change
* Demonstrable experience leading and developing a high performance team
* Comfortable analysing data to inform your decision-making
* Understanding of relevant insurance regulations & legislation
* Great interpersonal skills & stakeholder management, dealing with stakeholders of all levels
* Ability to innovate & work in a fast-paced environment across a breadth of initiatives

When you'll be in the office depends on your role, but most colleagues are in 2 days a week, and we'll consider the flexible working options that work best for you.
This role is available in our London, Bristol, Leeds or Glasgow offices.
