Our healthcare assistant’s in complex care provide specialised support to our clients with intricate and multifaceted medical needs. Our clients may have chronic illnesses, disabilities, or conditions that require intensive and continuous care. Key Responsibilities may include : Personal Care: Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Help with mobility, including transfers from bed to wheelchair and repositioning to prevent bedsores. Medical Support: Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Assist with medication administration under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional. Perform simple medical tasks like wound care, changing dressings, and monitoring catheter or feeding tube sites. Complex Needs Assistance: Provide care for patients with complex needs such as those requiring ventilators, tracheostomy care, or PEG feeding. Assist with the management of chronic conditions, including diabetes, epilepsy, or heart disease. Help in monitoring and managing symptoms and responding to medical emergencies as needed. Emotional and Psychological Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, addressing their social and emotional needs. Communicate effectively with patients, understanding their concerns and providing reassurance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided and any changes in the patient’s condition. Report any concerns or significant changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional promptly. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
