This candidate will undertake specialist cleaning activities including high level, deep cleaning and complete reactive cleaning across nominated sites supporting both the cleaning and janitorial teams as required. The role will also provide holiday and absence cover for the core cleaning teams to help maintain the school premises to a high standard of cleanliness. This will include the requirement to clean all rooms, including classrooms, offices, toilets, social spaces, staircases, and all other areas in use.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Internal & External High-Level Cleaning
• Gutter & Gulley Cleaning
• Oven Cleaning (Noncommercial Kitchens)
• Hard Landscaping Paths & Walkways.
• To be responsible for cleaning certain areas of the school sites (these areas may vary from time to time to suit the business needs) as allocated by the Area Supervisor in charge.
• To use cleaning materials as instructed by the Chargehand.
• To operate cleaning machinery in cleaning soft and hard surfaces, e.g. vacuum cleaners & scrubber driers.
• To maintain confidentiality in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.
• Vacuum cleaning hard and soft floors.
• Spot cleaning of spillages.
• Cleaning furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and door glass, windowsills, skirtings, radiators, walls and any other surfaces within the allocated area.
• Emptying and cleaning waste and recycling bins.
• Cleaning toilets, including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
• Mopping, scrubber drying hard floor surfaces.
• Replenishing supplies in toilets and classrooms, etc.
• Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and locking doors.
• Reporting of misuse or vandalism.
• During holiday periods when the school is closed, cleaning is undertaken throughout the school. This may include scrubbing floors, stairwells, removing chewing gum from floors, under desks, etc., wall washing, and moving furniture on wheels to deep clean classrooms, etc.
• Undertake any additional cleaning duties as directed by the Soft Services Area Supervisor or Soft Services Manager.
• All defects/hazards must be immediately reported to the onsite Chargehand or Area Supervisor.
• To ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed, in accordance with company policies.
Skills and Knowledge
• BICSc certification to an appropriate level (preferred but not essential as full training will be given).
• Experience in a cleaning environment, (preferred but not essential as full training will be given).
• IPAF Licence, (preferred but not essential as full training will be given).
• Reach & Wash qualification preferred for window cleaning duties.
• PASMA qualification required.
