Job Description:
Smin Therapeutics is a biotech company at the forefront of small molecule drug development for autoimmune diseases. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist to join our team in Cambridge, UK. Working closely with our Principal Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting our advanced drug discovery and preclinical development efforts.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in assay biology, particularly in developing and executing biochemical and cell-based assays, and will contribute significantly to our discovery pipeline in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and perform biochemical assays using formats such as HTRF and ELISA.
2. Develop and perform cell-based assays using a range of techniques.
3. Analyse, interpret, and report assay data using appropriate software tools.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery programs.
5. Contribute to the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of experimental protocols.
6. Interactions with CROs and external collaborators.
7. Maintain accurate and comprehensive experimental records.
Requirements:
1. A Ph.D. in a relevant field (biology, biochemistry, or related discipline) or equivalent work experience, including extensive hands-on expertise in assay development.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in biochemical and cell-based assay development.
3. Familiarity with Containment Level 2 environments.
4. Strong understanding of the drug discovery process.
5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Experience in SPR/GCI (Surface Plasmon Resonance/Grating-Coupled Interferometry) and biophysics techniques is advantageous.
8. Background in immunology or autoimmune diseases is not necessary, but a plus.
