Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking for a challenge? Do you enjoy the fast-paced nature of the Hospital's front door? Do you want the opportunity to work at a large teaching hospital trust? Then look no further, we have the perfect job for you!
Our Acute Assessment and Frailty Therapy team (AAFTT) is a brand new team formed by the experienced Frailty team and the admission avoidance team. We are looking for leadership support and specialist knowledge by seeking a clinical lead physiotherapist. You will be part of building and leading the new team and creating solutions that allow patients who no longer require hospital treatment to safely be discharged home and preventing admissions for as many as possible. The AAFTT team will cover the Emergency Department and all associated assessment units as well as the frailty unit, resulting in a diverse and interesting caseload. A number of our patients are admitted with respiratory conditions so you will need to be respiratory competent or willing to upskill (full training can be provided).
This is a unique role for a clinician who is seeking both complex caseload management and clinical leadership within the acute assessment and frailty team at Lancashire Teaching Hospital. You will be fully supported by the Professional Lead Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist as well as the Therapy Service Lead.
You will provide comprehensive specialist physiotherapy input including assessment and treatment programmes for patients referred to the service and in particular those with complex needs, including prioritisation, assessment, planning, advice, treatment, evaluation, and discharge, demonstrating evidence-based practice.
We want to create an effective and high performing team and so we are looking for somebody who is proactive and a dedicated team member, who is open to new ideas and is committed to delivering high quality patient care.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and team working skills are essential to enhance working relationships. An ability to thrive under pressure, work in a fast-paced working environment, and lead change management is essential due to the dynamic nature of acute medicine. Experience and evidence of people management is essential to ensure staff development and maintain high standards of care and practice.
The team will be providing a 7 day service between the hours of 8-6 therefore the successful applicant will be working within this shift pattern. This pattern allows for flexibility and options can be explored at interview.
If delivering high quality care and making a personal difference to your patients’ lives is what makes you tick then come and join our great team!
