Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be a hybrid position, working out of our site in Chippenham.
Your future duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and strategic IT Asset Manager to oversee the management of software assets across our organisation. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with licensing agreements, proactively mitigate security and compliance risks, and optimise software asset costs. This role is critical in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets while ensuring alignment with industry standards and Defence policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with software licensing terms and agreements.
2. Proactively identify and implement strategies to mitigate security and compliance risks.
3. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of software assets, licenses, and entitlements.
4. Monitor the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring timely identification of obsolete software.
5. Conduct regular audits to assess software compliance and mitigate risks related to unlicensed software usage.
6. Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to optimise software investments and licensing costs.
7. Ensure adherence to Defence policies and industry best practices in IT asset management.
8. Provide recommendations on asset procurement, renewal, and retirement based on business needs and compliance requirements.
9. Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment between asset management practices and organisational goals.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Proven experience in an IT Asset Management role.
2. Experience working in a Defence environment, with an understanding of Defence policies related to asset management.
3. Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
4. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and procurement processes.
5. Demonstrated experience in conducting IT asset audits and compliance assessments.
