FM Supervisor required for Saffron Walden Community Hospital

To participate in the provision of the in-house FM services within the hospital. The in-house FM services comprises of the cleaning, catering & portering services. The appointed person will also be required to support and assist the Facilities Management team in the monitoring of outsourced contracted services.
Main duties of the job
• An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
• Knowledge of the National Standards of Cleanliness
• Waste Management Handling Knowledge & Compliance
• Basic understanding of Infection Control Guidelines & Procedures
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Understanding of the responsibilities relating to Health and Safety at Work and COSHH
• Basic knowledge of NHS Organisations
• Knowledge of manual handling
ROLE SUMMARY
• You will be responsible for the day to day co-supervision of the FM services and will be the customers’ point of contact for any FM related issues.
• You will deputise in the absence of the FM Management Team.
• The FM services comprise of the cleaning, catering and portering teams.
• You will be responsible for supporting all the FM Assistants
• Ensure that all areas are maintained to a clean and hygienic level for patients, trust staff and visitors in line with the current National Standards of Cleanliness.
• Ensuring the goods delivered to site are received, checked and distributed appropriately by the portering staff on duty.
• Arrange rosters to ensure that there is sufficient cover available and resources are used efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with legislation relating to both Food Safety and Health and Safety.
• Check stock levels and place orders as required
• Provide FM support and advice as required.
• To deal efficiently with any complaints/issues, report remedial action to Facilities Officer / Facilities Manager.
• As part of the Facilities Team you are expected to have a flexible approach, excellent interpersonal and customer skills, ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise your duties.

Skills/experience
• To be able to read, write and converse in English
• Able to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Flexible working approach

• Similar previous experience
• Basic use of computer packages – word, excel and outlook
• Confident to work in areas with mental health clients
• Able to use small and large pieces of catering equipment such as regen trollies, dishwashers
• Able to undertake general portering duties
• Performance focused – to operate within agreed performance standards
• A good understanding of customer service, i.e. caring, kind, able to be flexible, a good sense of humor, able to hold a conversation with others
• Possess excellent personal hygiene standards
• Ability to work in an environment which may get hot on occasions
