An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department Pastoral and Spiritual Care serving the new Humber Health Partnership Group Structure at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) as a Band 6 WTE Trust Chaplain. (full time, part time/job share would be considered).
A core element of the role will be the engagement with patients, carers, their families, and staff, as a Chaplaincy practitioner, primarily within the Trust, but across the Group to meet exceptional operational need. This will include full participation in the on-call rota to provide 24 hours/365-day Chaplaincy cover to the Trust/Group as required. As a Trust Chaplain you will have knowledge and experience about your tradition which is relevant to Chaplaincy. You will also need a working knowledge of other faiths/beliefs and philosophies. You will play a key role in implementing high quality Pastoral and Spiritual Care opportunities, utilising appropriate systems and processes to ensure the effective and efficient day to day delivery of Pastoral and Spiritual Care.
Applicants are likely to have experience of effectively communicating the importance of high-quality Pastoral and Spiritual Care to peers and senior colleagues utilising demonstrably well-developed communication skills. Candidates will need to be well grounded in their own faith/belief group tradition, and able to demonstrate respect for the validity of people of all faiths/beliefs (including those who espouse no faith or belief). The successful candidate is likely to have an awareness of current challenges in the NHS, and the evolving place of Pastoral and Spiritual Care. They will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering high quality and effective pastoral and spiritual care in either an NHS, or social care setting, and demonstrable recent experience of designing and delivering effective training programmes.
Working closely with all colleagues, and the designated Site Lead Chaplain, you will play a key role in the promotion, development, and provision of Spiritual and Pastoral Care within the Trust, remaining cognisant with current research in Chaplaincy/Pastoral and Spiritual Care. You will be primarily based on the South Bank (Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG)) but some travel within the Group may be required. You will need to ensure that your day-to-day Pastoral and Spiritual Care delivery is consistent with UKBHC Standards, and Codes of Practice, as well as current or future NHS Chaplaincy Guidelines.
Should we receive a high volume of applications the advert may be closed earlier than stated.
