This role is in the Anglia Permanent team within Timetable Production who plan schedules across the Anglia route. Anglia is part of the Eastern region and comprises 1,697 track miles covering the railway across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and parts of Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Greater London. Over 4,000 trains run across the route every day, calling at 237 stations and running through more level crossings than any other route in the country.
The Anglia route serves a fast-growing area connecting millions of commuters, leisure travellers and freight with three major UK ports at Felixstowe, Thameshaven and Tilbury as well as the busy Stansted and Southend airports. Anglia Route also own and operate London Liverpool Street, which is the nation’s busiest station, with 80.4 million entries and exits in 2022/23.
What does the average day look like?
In this dynamic role, you'll dive into a sea of intricate data to craft timetable planning rules (TPR) for the Anglia route, ensuring our timetables remain resilient and cost-effective. Collaborating closely with industry stakeholders, you'll navigate consultations and negotiations in line with regulatory standards. Your expertise will shine as you develop compelling evidence packages to support rule implementation and facilitate dispute resolution when needed. Engaging with industry experts, you'll champion TPR changes through informative presentations and discussions.
You will investigate and resolve TPR deficiencies in collaboration with operators and performance teams. You will be maintaining documentation and validating values using diverse data sources. As a vital team member, you'll contribute to enhancement projects, evaluating network changes' impacts on TPRs and ensuring operational efficiency.
Essential Criteria
·Strong analytical skills
·Working knowledge and application of TPRs and the Network Code
·Proven ability to engage with customers, and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
·Proven experience in delivering to agreed timelines and standards
·Experience and/or knowledge of railway operating procedures
·Understanding of planning and analysis tools and techniques
·Experience of train planning including methods and tools
