My Client is looking for a Managing Director ideally with Scientific Camera Technology / Inspection Systems experience to join and lead the team.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the company to maximise the financial, commercial and operational performance of the organisation and set the company up for continuous growth.
The Managing Director will have a local management team reporting into them: Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Engineering.
A technical degree is required, as well as experience in Operations and Business Development.
Applicants must possess a dynamic and application-driven approach to the sales process and the drive to achieve ambitious growth goals.
The Managing Director must inspire the organisation to be customer-focused to attain top-line revenue growth and improve profitability. 20–30% travel is expected.
About the Role:

* Provide inspired leadership companywide; act as coach to the senior management team; build and model company culture.
* Make high-level decisions about policy & strategy.
* Develop & implement operational policies and a strategic plan.
* Provide direction; communicate & translate strategy into detailed one-year operational plans. Clarify for everyone in the workforce their responsibilities and what is expected of them.
* Design organisation structure & staffing for growth and profitability.
* Develop company culture and overall company vision of Quality First; create a seamless, consistent level of excellence at every stage of contact and work within the company.
* Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale; also develop company-wide communications for all staff.
* Manage company performance; review progress against plans and initiate any necessary corrective action.
* Conduct reviews of individual performance; confront poor performance.
* Manage change; develop tactics that overcome inertia and resistance, and which get buy-in.
* Oversee company fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, auditing.
* Report to the board of directors and keep them informed.
* Oversee major supplier negotiations.
* Work with senior stakeholders; develop relationships with key customers, prospects, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and the local community.
* Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
Qualifications:
Educated to Degree Level in a technical subject (Imaging, Engineering or Material Science). MBA preferred.
Experience:
* 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management or similar industry.
* Sales of technical equipment.
* Export control experience.
* A proven record as a team player who has the ability and confidence to work on own initiative and independently when needed.
* Ability to train, develop, motivate, and manage teams.
* Experience in x-ray and detection technology.
* Experience with significant operations improvements and revenue growth.
* Scientific Camera Technology / Inspection Systems experience preferred.
Knowledge:
* Basic understanding of x-ray technology and imaging.
* Development of sales and marketing plans.
* Financial Statements.
Skills & Abilities:
* Read and interpret specifications & technical documents.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Data Analysis and presentation skills.
* Good IT skills and use of Microsoft Office.
