Ara Poutama Aotearoa/Department of Corrections currently has an exciting opportunity to join the Southern Region Intelligence team as an Intelligence Support Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager Regional Intelligence, the Intelligence Support Analyst is part of a small team who provide quality actionable intelligence to support our Hōkai Rangi strategy and help to protect victims, prevent criminal activity and support staff safety. In this role you would be responsible for proactively supporting the intelligence unit through the collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information for intelligence purposes. You would also be responsible for supporting intelligence staff with the creation of core intelligence and analytical products and with information and intelligence collection by applying the intelligence cycle and entry level analytical tools and methods.
This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday. The position is predominantly based in our Southern Regional Office in central Christchurch, but also involves spending time across our three Canterbury prison sites. Occasional regional travel (primarily in Canterbury) is required.
Minimum Requirements:
* An understanding of the intelligence cycle, processes, and methodologies (a tertiary qualification in a related field or Level 3 Certificate in Intelligence or higher is desirable)
* Ability to research, collate, analyse, and present information effectively, including effective report writing and presentation skills
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and work unsupervised
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders
* Strong teamwork skills along with the ability to support team members remotely
* Ability to operate with a high level of integrity and discretion
* Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and the Intelligence database.
* A full NZ driver licence is required.
The successful applicant must be capable of obtaining and must retain appropriate level of security clearance through NZSIS vetting process.

The salary range for this role is $57,824 - $81,586 per annum, with the midpoint being $67,988 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
