Maintenance Electrician

About the Role
As a Maintenance Electrician you will be part of the in-house Estates team that supports and enables the safe and efficient operation of the University estate.
The role is varied and diverse, with day-to-day duties ranging from ensuring that our estate is safe and operational, through to supporting the delivery of key University events such as open days and graduation ceremonies.
Typical duties will include the undertaking of routine maintenance tasks and repairs on Low and Extra Low Voltage systems in all the University buildings; electrical installation work to new and existing circuits; supporting the delivery of minor works projects; undertaking electrical testing work and gathering information for the upkeep of records with regards to electrical distribution boards, fire alarms and emergency lighting; supporting the set up and delivery of key University events such as open days, graduation and clearing.

Our City campus is home to stunning Grade II listed buildings, dynamic architecture and picturesque living walls and terraces. Recent developments at our Clifton campus include a £23m Medical Technology Innovation Facility (MTIF), £15m Health and Allied Professions Centre and £1.6m Smart Wireless Innovation Facility (SWIFT).
Our Brackenhurst campus offers a veterinary nursing centre, climate-controlled greenhouses, and multiple state-of-the-art laboratories. The Lyth building was completed in at a cost of £11.5m and offers a wide range of high-quality teaching and social spaces.
Our Confetti campus offers access to professional TV, film and music studios, as well as specialist labs, computer suites, industry-standard tech and world class facilities for Esports. From, Confetti will be launching a second site in Whitechapel London, complete with a multipurpose, live events venue.
Located at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, our £6.5m Mansfield Hub opened in and includes state-of-the-art training facilities for clinical practitioners, as well as a sport science laboratory, lecture theatres and flexible study spaces.
