We are looking for a Business Assurance Manager to join our team and play a key role in shaping our risk assurance strategy, ensuring we deliver high-quality results while aligning with our core values of Partnership, Respect, Inclusion, Drive, and Efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our risk-based assurance programme, working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure that internal controls are robust and effective. You will help us navigate emerging risks and challenges while supporting and developing a culture of transparency and accountability. Key Responsibilities: Own and manage the Risk Assurance Map, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with the three lines of defense Develop and execute a risk-based assurance strategy and annual programme, adapting it as necessary in response to emerging risks and organisational changes Lead a team to meet key deadlines while ensuring adequate resource allocation and engaging external expertise when required Ensure assurance reviews are conducted using clear, risk-based methodologies and communicate findings effectively across the business Oversee audit testing and the completion of the assurance programme, ensuring all work is done to high standards Maintain regular communication with senior leadership, providing clear, actionable reports on risk and control effectiveness Provide a quarterly summary to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), highlighting significant risks and any non-compliance or control issues Provide an annual opinion on internal controls and align with Internal Audit to ensure coordinated assurance effortsAbout the candidate: A solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, including RSH’s Regulatory Standards, CQC Regulations, and GDPR In-depth knowledge of the key risks facing the organisation and a strong understanding of risk management principles Proven ability to create clear plans for assurance work and manage a team to meet deadlines Experience in identifying and closing gaps in knowledge or expertise within the Business Assurance function Ability to adapt priorities to reflect emerging risks and changing organisational needs Strong analytical and creative thinking skills, with a problem-solving mindset Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to all levels of the business Ability to build constructive, respectful relationships across teams and with the Executive Leadership TeamFor more information about the role please contact, Barrie Miles We value our partnerships with recruitment agencies, and while we have a strong internal recruitment team, we know where you are if we need your support For more information about the role, please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification document.
