Key attributes that postholders will need to have will include: 1. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a wide range of general and specialised computer software/ hardware used to collect research data. 2. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of one or more computer programming languages (including SQL). 3. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of database design. 4. Demonstrates knowledge of Software Engineering and its associated design methodologies / strategies 5. Ability to use own initiative, solve complex problems, make decisions. 6. In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. 7. Knowledge of relevant acts of parliament as they pertain to the use and abuse of computer systems, and especially the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations 8. Knowledge of Security threats to and via computer systems 9. Awareness and implications of wider Health research issues. 10. Be familiar with medical terminology 11. Working with others to ensure that all necessary permissions are in place before any data is released for use in research programmes. 12. Work with staff who are unfamiliar with the use of health data, providing information about including guidance around its uses, the logic and rules involved and its limitations. 13. Be able to build and maintain a productive working relationship with colleagues across corporate and operational teams within the Trust and with a wide variety of external stakeholders from academic and industrial backgrounds. 14. Manage multiple data sources and requests and ensure a consistent, coherent output is achieved
