We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support within a classroom setting. This is a key role that requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering the student’s academic and personal development. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other school staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated, one-on-one support to a student, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional needs. Support the student in accessing the curriculum by offering tailored help in specific subjects or tasks, ensuring their full participation in lessons. Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher. Assist in the development and implementation of personalized learning plans (IEPs or support plans) in collaboration with the teacher and SENCO. Support the student with any behavioral or emotional challenges they may face during lessons and throughout the school day. Assist with the student’s general well-being and help foster their confidence and independence. Liaise with parents, teachers, and external agencies when necessary to ensure effective support for the student. Help with classroom organization, preparation of learning resources, and other administrative tasks as required by the class teacher. Attend team meetings and training sessions to continuously develop your skills and knowledge. Key Skills and Attributes: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable. A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff. Ability to use initiative and work independently, while being part of a team. Good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. A passion for supporting young learners and helping them succeed. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential. GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent. First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: Mornings (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM) Friday: Full day (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
