Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, as a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new sources of recovered paper, as well as managing the flow of quality recovered paper to Sonoco paper mills in the region which assigned. Achieves the most cost-effective supply plans for all paper mills assigned to support. Works closely with mill managers and other mill recovered materials personnel to maintain a high level of understanding of mill requirements. In conjunction with suppliers and mill personnel, is responsible for coordinating and communicating all raw material downgrades and rejections in an effort to keep quality at its best.
What you'll be doing:
1. Capacity Management of demand through Sales and Operations Planning
2. Review and authorize production schedules for shop floor use
3. Development of existing supply chain processes and procedures
4. Balance customer demand with supply using MRP logic
5. Stock build management for seasonal business
6. Maintain and improve Bill of Material accuracy
7. Maintain inventory stock at business plan levels
8. Resolving booking and system process flow issues
9. Control working capital by optimal planning of inventory
10. Develop relationships between Customer Service, Sales Managers and Production area
11. Analysis of supply chain issues
12. Order of direct and indirect materials
13. Warehouse management of on-site and off-site inventory and FLT contract
14. Allocating and managing staff resources according to business demand
15. Managing staff training and discipline issues
16. Responsible for inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, warehouse, safety and logistics quality management
17. Work with purchasing to understand opportunities to eliminate cost through consignment stock and substitute materials
18. A proactive problem solving approach to supply chain management issues, with an ability to resolve using IT systems.
19. Prepare for and chair daily morning Supply Chain meeting
20. Maintain and issue weekly and monthly KPI’s for the business
21. Weekly commitment meeting to confirm plans, line change over’s, and crewing rosters for the following 3 weeks.
22. Prepare customer stock and label ordering requirements information
23. Confident presenting supply chain performance to customers
