As the Centre Manager for the Australian Forest and Wood Innovations (AFWI) Centre for Climate-Smart Forestry, you'll play a pivotal role in reshaping Australia's forest and wood products industries. You'll lead strategic planning, manage complex partnerships, and drive innovative research initiatives that address climate change. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on national sustainability efforts while working with leading researchers and industry partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the Centre's strategic, operational, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with key objectives and stakeholder needs.
* Partnership Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, research collaborators, and funding bodies to drive long-term sustainability and impact.
* Financial Oversight: Manage the Centre's budget, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with University policies and external funding requirements.
* Operational Excellence: Coordinate administrative functions, oversee project agreements, and lead reporting activities to support the Centre's research programs and industry engagement.

The School of Agriculture, Food, and Ecosystem Sciences (SAFES) has a vision of science for flourishing environments and communities. SAFES brings together diverse discipline strengths to lead the development of new interdisciplinary thinking and high-impact solutions for global challenges relating to climate change, food security, healthy food systems, biodiversity conservation, sustainable forest management, invasive species, and environmentally and economically sustainable agricultural practices. Our expertise spans biophysical, social and technical sciences, and we support a large cohort of PhD students across these domains.
