TimePlan Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Oldham. This role is ideal for a resilient, patient, and compassionate individual with experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and additional needs.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
Implementing individual behaviour management strategies to support pupils in the classroom.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a positive and structured learning environment.
Using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
Encouraging positive interactions, self-regulation, and engagement in learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✔ Experience working with children with challenging behaviour, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs), or SEND.
✔ A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
✔ Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of de-escalation techniques.
✔ A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
✔ An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
