This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.
In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team.
Background to the Post
Warwickshire College has an excellent reputation for vocational education and training for work-based Apprenticeships. The Work Based Learning Academy is a large and varied curriculum area offering a wide range of subjects and disciplines, including apprenticeships, work based learning qualifications, management training and professional accreditations. The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices.
We are now seeking a motivated and organised individual who can liaise with both employers and learners to assess their competencies within the workplace. The department provides training and assessment for Apprenticeship Standards. The post holder will join the existing Warwick Trident team to work with the Head of Work Based Learning to provide employers with the necessary support to employ apprentices and to continue to support the apprentices in the workplace. To carry out Health and Safety checks and Risk Assessments. To visit students and Apprentices in work settings to carry out reviews, assess, train and offer support, to liaise with Employers. To provide a point of contact for employers and other agencies as necessary. To be responsible for producing and updating data relating to Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships, and for carrying out any necessary administrative tasks related to their caseload of employers and apprentices.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Assist, guide and support students following their initial enquiry and interview to
choose the right course of study.
● Assist, guide and support employers to access appropriate recruitment options
and funding streams for their respective training needs, where appropriate;
including the Apprenticeship Service, Recruit an Apprentice Service.
● Work with relevant parties to ensure students are placed in a safe, suitable and
healthy environment with appropriate access to work based training.
● Work with support departments and Head of WBL to ensure that all existing and
new programmes, within the vocational area are marketed and promoted in the
best interests of the College.
● Represent the department in promotional activities and provide student statistics
and reports where needed for Senior Management.
● Support vocational areas by setting up and promoting bespoke training to meet
industry needs when required.
● Mentor individual candidates and monitor their academic and vocational progress.
Liaise all parties to ensure that each candidate has the range of opportunities
required for their competence based assessments throughout their programme.
● Carry out formal assessments.
● Carry out formal verification and moderation of assessments.
● To improve the quality of provision including involvement with internal and
external verification procedures, annual review, self-assessment, Quality
Improvement Plans and provision of data as necessary.
● Carry out formal progress reviews in a timely manner with Apprentices and their
employers.
● Maintain and update all relevant documentation to a high standard in accordance
with the requirements of the College, Awarding organisations, Funding Rules and
relevant external agencies.

For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to: DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).
Essential Attainments:
● Experience of mentoring or coaching.
● Evidence of formal structured training e.g. an apprenticeship.
● A level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
● Assessor award A1, or equivalent.
● Current experience or assessor activity in Engineering Maintenance, Mechanical
Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technical Support Additive,
Manufacturing / composites ( Carbon ) Manufacturing or General Machining.
● Vocational experience of working in industry and dealing with customers.
● A willingness to undertake professional development to address specific
vocational skill requirements.
● IT skills in Excel / Word / Outlook or similar software.
● A driving licence free of major endorsements and/or the ability to travel within the
College’s recruitment area.
● Support with EPA preparation.
Desirable Attainments:
● Experience of working with Awarding Bodies and knowledge of their systems and
paperwork.
● Experience of reviewing and assessing learners within company.
● Experience of working with outside agencies and organisations.
