Job Description Data Specialist Full Time Bristol Why Rolls-Royce? An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Data Specialist to join the digital and IT Defence team in Bristol. As a Data Specialist you will play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s data management and ensuring data quality, compliance, and effective utilisation. You will be responsible for data modelling, data governance, data quality assurance, process improvements, risk mitigation and training & awareness across the defence programmes, working closely with IT, export control, security, cyber and business teams to align data practices with compliance requirements. What you will be doing: Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, define data structures, relationships, and hierarchies and ensure alignment with business requirements and industry standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor data access controls and permissions. Develop and deliver training for data management and data governance principles and best practices. Support the development and implementation of data quality assurance, identify data anomalies and work business functions to improve data quality across systems. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK). Proficiency in data profiling and data modelling tools Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Understanding of data governance principles and data quality frameworks. To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence Business there may be a requirement for an individual to hold a level of National Security Vetting (NSV). If the requirement is identified Rolls-Royce will support the application for NSV if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
