Scottish Power Renewables are looking for 3 Quality Managers to join their EA2 project. Candidates must have experience in either:
* Onshore Sub Stations
* Offshore Sub Stations
* Fabrications
Role: Quality Manager
Duration: Initial contract until 31st Dec 2025 with renewal in line with the project
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Project Quality Manager in planning, implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) activities within the Foundation/ONSS/OFSS package.
2. Plan, implement and maintain the Quality Assurance (QA) activities within the package.
3. Implement the EA2 QMS and Employer Requirements (ER) into the specific package ways of working and package management documentation.
4. Lead and coordinate different sites' quality teams, liaise with quality specialists assigned to the package, coordinate and carry out external and internal audit activities, coordinate inspections and report on project performance.
5. Provide support and guidance to the sites' quality teams as well as practical advice and support to the project/package team to ensure consistent methodology is being applied and understood by the package team and Contractor.
Key Tasks
1. Provide the necessary support to the Project Quality Manager (PQM) regarding quality issues.
2. Ensure implementation of the PQMS within the package - identification, preparation, distribution and maintenance of project/package quality documentation in accordance with the PQMS.
3. Ensure standard quality specifications are present and distributed to all relevant parties to ensure all legal/regulatory requirements are met.
4. Monitor the correct implementation of the PQMS through planning and conducting internal quality audits.
5. Participate in package management meetings to ensure coordination between quality activities and package management activities.
6. Prepare reports as necessary.
7. Ensure document control processes are followed within the package as well as by contractors in order to maintain documents/records traceability.
8. Ensure that the quality documentation and quality reports/records are produced, verified and reviewed by competent personnel.
9. Incorporate quality requirements in the contractual documents with contractors.
10. Ensure the quality of deliverables, materials, products and services across all phases of the package.
11. Lead and coordinate quality site teams in the different sites.
12. Coordinate inspection teams and inspection activities.
13. Organise quality meetings and attend contractors' meetings as required.
14. Ensure that the site teams are provided with the necessary equipment, resources and instructions including access to the relevant project procedures, reports and documentation.
15. Liaise with and provide support to the package/project verification/certification body.
16. Manage nonconformities and promote appropriate actions to prevent/eliminate potential non-conformities and their causes.
17. Ensure final dossiers fulfil project requirements and are consistently presented.
18. Create a quality culture within the package team by performing/organising quality trainings.
19. Collect and analyse package quality data to identify trends and report on package quality performance.
20. Facilitate lessons learned process within the package and implement mitigation measures from previous projects.
21. Maintain and encourage a high standard of Health & Safety.
Key Criteria
1. Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control for onshore/offshore wind projects, preferably specific to fabrication, onshore sub station, or offshore sub station works.
2. Engineering degree qualified or equivalent technical qualifications/experience.
3. 5-8 years of experience managing quality, preferably within fabrication/ONSS/OFSS related packages.
4. Quality auditing certification.
5. Strong knowledge in NDT; qualification in welding and coating is a plus.
6. Experience in managing international and remote teams.
7. Flexibility to travel frequently in UK and overseas.
8. Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the job.
9. Flexibility to work offshore if required.
Preferred:
1. Technical experience in electrical, mechanical or civil construction works.
2. Quality Auditing certification required.
3. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
4. Provision of quality management support and coaching.
5. Proven experience in managing teams.
6. Experience as a proactive team member.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation.
9. Proven significant experience of IT applications (word, excel, document management systems).
10. Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary suppliers (electrical plant, cable, structures etc.).
11. Proven experience of implementing or working to an inspection regime for the production of goods/equipment.
