Vice President, People & Culture – UK, EU & ROW
Reports to Chief People Officer
Location: London/Hybrid – must be within commutable distance
Job Summary
A role for visionary and strategic Vice President, People & Culture to lead our People/HR function for the UK, EU and ROW (mainly Netherlands plus a small FTE in Europe and India), with a focus on strategic People/HR partnering, Global People Operations, UK, EU and ROW recruiting oversight (overseeing that team), and oversight of UK payroll (managing the payroll manager). The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with extensive experience in global HR management and a deep understanding of UK employment laws and practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Develop and execute People strategies that support the company's overall business objectives and drive organizational growth
* Build and maintain strong relationships to partner with the Executive, senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive Organizational design, Workforce Planning and other required changes to optimize the business in their plan delivery
* Partnering across the People team and the business to help drive talent and succession planning
* Lead and manage global People/HR operations, ensuring consistent and efficient HR processes across all regions and drive a program of continuous improvement and optimisation of both process and systems for improved employee experience
* Oversee UK, EU and ROW recruiting efforts, ensuring the acquisition of top talent and the development of a diverse and inclusive workforce, with proactive pipeline management
* Oversee UK payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
* Provide strategic People/HR partnering to business leaders, offering guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
* Ensure compliance with UK, EU and ROW employment laws and regulations, and manage any legal or compliance issues that arise
* Align with the People Leadership Team (PLT) to support the drive for improved Employee Wellbeing, Engagement and Value Creation globally
* Lead, mentor, and develop the UK People team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
* Proven experience operating at a senior level in HR/People teams, with a global remit (albeit UK centric) and operating as part of a global team
* Experience within the pharma/healthcare industry would be beneficial
* A sound, or at least working, knowledge of Netherlands/EU employment law would be beneficial
* Experience in partnering closely with Senior Executives and supporting them in OD and workforce planning initiatives
* In-depth knowledge of UK employment laws, regulations, and best practices
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals
* Knowledge of HCM Systems (e.g. Success factors) advantageous but not essential
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* A strong can-do mindset, with flexibility to adapt and deal with change and the inevitable “left-field” events
* An appropriate qualification that has relevance to this role
Travel Requirements
* 10% potential global travel
