This permanent role is vital for the execution and management of highway and footway refurbishment programmes under the recently awarded long term Council partnership. The successful individual will become an integral part of the Design and Construction team, focusing on delivering capital works as outlined in the Annual Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing delivery resources to ensure the successful completion of highway and streetlighting schemes
Ensuring health, safety, environment, and quality undertakings comply with company and regulatory standards
Collaborating with the Programme Manager and Client to define the Annual Plan and Contractor's Plan
Managing the delivery phase of the schemes programme, optimising resource utilisation and consistency
Conducting design surveys and ECI meetings to inform commercial target costs
Scrutinising the allocation of all delivery costs and confirming payment applications in line with commercial targets
Utilising project management tools effectively in scheme undertakings
Promoting environmental initiatives and driving business improvements
Managing and supporting the development of direct reports to ensure performance standards are met
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Experience in managing construction scheme operational resources
Experience with structural maintenance schemes, including carriageway and footway resurfacing, surface dressing, and other treatments
New roads and streetworks supervisor qualification
SMSTS qualified
Relevant academic qualifications in construction or project management
Knowledge of Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual
Understanding of Microsoft 365, Asta, and Confirm
Strong team working and interpersonal skills
