Robert Half are recruiting for sports company based in Daventry to recruit for a very hands on Qualified Accountant to lead a small Finance function as Finance Manager reporting directly into the MD - office based with flexible start and finish times.
Finance Manager
1. Overall Management of Finance functions
2. Overall Management of Finance policies and Procedures
3. Manage processes and controls within Finance
4. Ensure company compliance with group guidelines and UK Accounting standards
5. To work with and manage Finance personnel
6. Full knowledge of accounting, finance and month end procedures
7. To ensure correct reporting
Duties & Responsibilities
8. Leadership of the UK Finance team and responsibilities, the team consists 2 Finance assistants.
9. You will be the main link between the company and external auditors, you'll ensure seamless collaboration for timely completion of statutory accounts, along with thorough review and consolidation processes for half year and year end audits.
10. Co-ordination of month end processes and the production of the monthly & quarterly management accounts pack.
11. Completion of other reports, cost centre, budgeting etc
12. Analyse P&L and Balance Sheet variances to support financial performance insights, determine & evaluate opportunities for lowering costs to company.
13. Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
14. Reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts monthly (experience of customer rebates would be beneficial) & enhance controls and processes impacting the P&L and Balance Sheet.
15. Assist and support with the preparation of the annual business planning cycle, budget, forecasting.
16. Accruals, Prepayments, Assets and Depreciation management.
17. Complete quarterly VAT returns / import duty payments.
18. P11D & PSA preparation and submission.
19. Intercompany transactions / reconciliation.
20. Banking, Cashflow & Expenses.
21. Accounts Payable.
22. Basic facilities, contracts and the car-fleet.
23. Completion of statistics survey and any other required business survey.
24. Advisor to the board business on best practices, influencing and improving company processes and procedures.
25. Coach and support your direct reports, implement tools to achieve goals and targets.
26. Conduct team meetings and performance appraisals.
27. Ensure exceptional customer service through the finance team.
