Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking to recruit a Fire Safety Advisor within the Fire Protection Business Support Team.

Fire Safety Advisor
Nottingham, NG9 2GQ
37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Grade 4: £30,559 - £32,654 per annum

We are seeking an innovative individual who has the skills and ability to build and maintain relationships through engagement with local businesses, regulators and trade bodies (such as the Business Improvement District, Pubwatch, CQC, HSE etc) to support our vision of creating safer communities within Nottinghamshire.
The role will focus on achieving the promotion of fire safety in the workplace, the education of compliance requirements with Fire Safety legislation in commercial premises, support in the reduction of arson related events and the reduction in unwanted fire signals through an education and advisory approach.
Knowledge and understanding of the way in which cultural barriers can affect business education and working practises will be hugely beneficial.
Candidates should be aware that the post holder will be required to work at various locations across the county of Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will be provided with opportunities to develop through nationally recognised fire safety pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, organise and deliver seminars, presentations, other events and projects designed to increase awareness of and promote Fire Safety legislation compliance, along with supporting arson reduction and the reduction of unwanted fire signals with relevant organisations and bodies.
Work with internal departments, external partner agencies and the business community to develop and deliver initiatives and programmes aimed at achieving the promotion of fire safety compliance along with supporting arson reduction and the reduction of unwanted fire signals.
Develop relationships with diverse business communities across Nottinghamshire with the focus on providing support and education with regards fire safety compliance along with supporting arson reduction and the reduction of unwanted fire signals.
Work in partnership with other regulatory bodies, business groups, enterprise partnerships, and other such bodies to support compliance with Fire Safety and other regulatory legislation.
Experience/Qualification
Experience of Fire Safety in commercial premises and/or Fire Safety qualifications would be beneficial but not essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to talk to members of the public.
Experience working and communicating with the public and partner organisations.
Have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Experience of delivering presentations or education packages.
Experience of setting up and running stalls at events or community projects.
Have a full UK driving license and be willing to travel around Nottinghamshire.
