The Role
As a Survey Manager, you will oversee all estimates, survey projects, work allocation, and scheduling. You will be responsible for managing and developing a high-performing survey team, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all surveying work. Additionally, you will collaborate with surveyors, clients, and the senior management team to grow and enhance the business.
1. Lead, mentor, and develop survey team members.
2. Champion self-development and excellent work quality.
3. Improve training programs from apprentices to senior surveyors.
4. Conduct staff meetings and toolbox talks.
5. Develop and maintain client relationships to generate repeat business.
6. Ensure efficiency and profitability of projects.
7. Undertake senior surveying responsibilities as needed.
8. Maintain high technical standards and quality of work.
Experience Required
1. Proficient in using total stations, laser scanners, GPS, equipment and LSS, N4CE, AutoCAD software.
2. Previous experience managing a surveying team including carrying out appraisals and disciplinary procedures.
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to delegate effectively to team members and other departments.
4. Excellent client-facing and customer services skills.
5. A relevant Geomatics Surveying undergraduate degree, additional master's or postgraduate degree, or equivalent information level of knowledge gained through experience.
