About The Service Our Waterside SureStart service plays an essential role in giving children and families the early support they need. As a universal service we work in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, midwives, and local schools. To help 0–4-year-olds get ready for school our services include: child and family health services; parenting programmes and antenatal support; early year's education services, such as ‘stay and play' sessions; speech and language support and family learning. How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures The Family Support Worker role is focussed on speech, language, play and development. It involves supporting our Speech and Language Therapist, conducting play and development programmes for parents and children aged 0-4ys and conducting home visits and registrations. Let's Talk About You Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: Diploma Level 2 in Early Years or a similar subject. Experience of working with children and families and identifying their needs. Excellent communication skills to be able to engage and work with children, young people and their families. An awareness and an ability to identify and act upon safeguarding concerns with clients and to follow agreed reporting procedures. Experience of group work programmes. Access to a car.
