British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Diesel Power Generator Technician to join our estates team. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams, and keep everyone safe!

Main Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and repair of the power production facility, including the servicing of the main diesel generator sets.
* Management of the fuel and maintaining the fuel handling equipment.
* Keeping detailed records of the work carried out and ensuring stock levels are correct.
Minimum Requirements:
For the role of diesel power generator technician, we are looking for somebody who has served a full apprenticeship, has a BTEC, relevant City & Guilds or NVQ with a recognized qualification within the petrol/diesel fueled engine maintenance industry, and has post qualification/apprenticeship practical site experience. With high levels of self-motivation and strong team-working skills, you will be able to manage your time well, anticipate problems, and take responsibility for reporting issues to your managers and fellow team members.
