Are you looking for a role where you can make a positive difference?
We’re looking for a Revenue Officer to join our team, within Adult Social Care & Health Financial Services.
The Revenue Team supports people to pay their assessed contribution towards the cost of their care, recover revenue, and assist people with debt resolution. We work closely with customers to ensure they receive appropriate support to maximise their income; review financial assessments to ensure contributions are affordable, and assess the affordability of payment plans to address debt. We provide support to meet customers’ individual needs, so excellent customer service skills are a must, coupled with an understanding of challenges our customers may face and knowledge of money advice services and budgeting skills.
You’ll be an integral part of the team, responsible for meeting with people who are not paying their client contribution or cannot afford the charge. You will carry out assessments to identify financial hardship and discuss the most appropriate way for the contribution to be paid and to recover any debt that has accrued.
As line manager to the Revenue Support Officer, you will provide effective supervision and support, alongside managing your own caseload. You will need the flexibility to work from our office in Eastbourne, from home, and make visits to clients living across the county. You will need to be able to demonstrate how you will meet the travel requirements of the role.
Knowledge of working with computers including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office is required. You’ll work on a number of bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.
We know our people are our biggest asset. We’ll provide you with excellent support, ongoing training, and opportunities to develop your career with us.
Please complete your application within the recruitment system, ensuring you detail how you meet all of the essential criteria and where relevant, any desirable criteria.
Interviews will be held in person, at our office in Eastbourne on Thursday 20 March 2025.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
If you require sponsorship to work in the UK please let the hiring manager know this in your application so we can check eligibility for sponsorship for the role.
If you require any reasonable adjustments, due to disability, to enable you to participate fully in the process please contact the hiring manager on the contact details above.
