Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated KS2 Teacher to join one of our wonderful Primary schools in South Ockendon.
As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting the development of children in year groups 5 & 6. This position requires a deep understanding of the KS2 curriculum framework, strong classroom management skills, and a passion for providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that align with the primary framework, fostering the holistic development of each child.
* Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.
* Design and set up engaging learning centres, ensuring a wide range of resources and materials are available to enhance child-led play and exploration.
* Assess and monitor each child's progress, keeping accurate records and providing regular feedback to parents/guardians on their child's development and achievements.
* Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians, involving them in their child's learning journey through effective communication and regular updates.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies that encourage positive behaviour and promote a respectful and inclusive classroom community.
* Collaborate with other primary teachers and school staff to plan and implement a comprehensive and cohesive curriculum.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child, providing appropriate support and challenges.
* Organize and participate in various activities, such as field trips, celebrations, and parent-teacher conferences.
* Stay updated with current educational trends and attend professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
* Proven experience as an Primary Teacher (specifically as class teacher in either Year 5 or 6.)
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 2 Stage and framework, and its implementation.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
* Creativity and the ability to design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in a temporary assignment through a recruitment agency.
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in primary teaching practices.
* Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
