Position: Residential Care Home Manager
Location: Chingford
Salary: £44,000 - £46,000
Purosearch are currently looking for a Care Home Manager to work at a residential care home in north London, registered for 30 service users. The home provides residential care for the frail elderly and those suffering with dementia and it is essential that you have a solid background within the health sector.
The home has a 'Good' CQC rating. As the registered manager, you will work closely with the service provider and be directly involved in the day-to-day running of the floor and office so that the unit meets the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act and associated regulations.
Main Duties:
1. Manage the staff team on shift and the delivery of care to service users.
2. Assist in the recruitment procedure, in conjunction with our Support Centre team, and mentor new care staff.
3. Manage the medication process to ensure service users' medicines are received, administered, recorded, and returned correctly.
4. Review and monitor the quality of the service to drive improvement.
5. Manage the DoL process (e.g. applications for authorisation / mental capacity assessments / best interest decisions).
6. Promote social activities at the residential care home and support, facilitate, and record access to the local community.
7. Organise service user access to healthcare services and ensure ongoing healthcare support.
8. Ensure care staff have the confidence and skills needed to carry out their roles and responsibilities through mentoring.
9. Consult with service users and their relatives, involving them in decisions about their care, treatment, and support.
10. Ensure care staff develop positive caring relationships with service users.
11. Assess service users' needs and respond to any changes to provide personalised care.
12. Update care plans to reflect the care and support given.
13. Involve service users in decision-making about their care and learn from their experiences, concerns, and complaints.
14. Promote an open and positive culture reflecting the opinions of the service users living at the home.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. NVQ 5 / RMN / QCF completed.
2. A proven track record as a registered manager or in a senior position within a residential care setting.
3. Elderly / dementia experience.
4. A sound knowledge of the CQC and applicable legislation / standards.
